Dempa goes large…
Idol pop group Dempagumi.inc have announced that their line-up has expanded with the addition of 2 new members. As unexpected as that news is, the additional surprise is that the new members are Rin “Perorin” Kaname and Nagi “Nemo” Nemoto from fellow idol outfit Niji no Conquistador.
As an 11 person idol group, Niji no Conquistador are one of the larger J-pop outfits in action and, despite Perorin and Nemo’s addition to Dempa, they will apparently continue being part of NijiCon. Perorin is a talented illustrator as well as being an idol and is also part of NijiCon’s Yellow Team (who also form the subsidiary idol group Beboga!). Meanwhile, Nemo is a former member of Mito Gotochi Idol and belongs to NijiCon’s Red Team.
Dempagumi had been rocked back in the summer with the departure of Moga Mogami. At the time, Dempa had planned to continue as a 5-piece outfit.
Nemo and Perorin’s first stage performance with the newly augmented 7-piece Dempagumi took place on 30th December. The live took place at Osaka-Jo Hall in front of 10,000 people and included a new song ‘Girametasu Dempa Stars’.
‘Girametasu Dempa Stars’ will also be the new single, scheduled for a spring release, along with a tour to begin shortly afterwards.
