UK J-Pop fans should mark their diaries for 11th October 2015 when KYARY PAMYU PAMYU will be staging her 3rd concert in the UK at the Roundhouse venue in London.
KPP’s appearance is part of a greater effort by Moshi Moshi Nippon to spread Japanese pop culture around the world. Regular readers will know that Moshi Moshi Nippon are now a staple feature of Hyper Japan, promoting the likes of Yun*chi at previous events. As well as returning for Hyper Japan this month, the Moshi Moshi Nippon Festival will take place at the Roundhouse this October – part of an ongoing campaign that will see the Festival visiting Los Angeles, Paris and Singapore.
Judging by previous events, such as one held in Taipei in June, the Festival combines fashion show elements and musical performances – including appearances by Anna Yano, Tempura Kidz, m-flo and even Capsule/KPP producer Yasutaka Nakata.
Although details of the UK event have yet to be finalised (outside of confirmation of KPP’s appearance), the forthcoming Paris Festival has confirmed Capsule, Yasutaka Nakata, Boom Boom Satellites and Tempura Kidz. Based on that line-up it’s quite possible that KPP’s return trip could also see the UK’s live debut of Tempura Kidz or even Capsule.
